Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Her siblings include two brothers and one older sister. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents had been to the country in the 1980s due to the civil war in Sri Lanka. After completing high school in Bahrain she was awarded a Scholarship at University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. As a lover of all different cultures and languages, she was a part of the Berlitz school of languages where she learned to speak Spanish and improved her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was crown in March 2006; she also took part in Miss Universe 2006 Following her winning the 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television and hosted a show about Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the child of badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. As a teenager she competed in badminton at National level competitions. She later resigned her career in the sport to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is from Mangalorean origin, and her mother tongue is Konkani. Padukone is a village located in Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an old badminton player who is of world-class fame, while her mother works as a travel agent.
